Tower Engineering, Inc. provided HVAC, Electrical, Technology, Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineering services for multiple projects at the Westmoreland County Community College, including a renovation/addition to Founders Hall, an addition to Science Hall, and infrastructure upgrades to other facilities on the Youngwood campus.
Founders Hall is a dated high-bay building that was converted by WCCC from industrial use to administrative offices, classrooms, student success center, enrollment center and faculty offices. Minimal documentation of the existing MEPFP conditions exists, creating the need for incredibly thorough site investigations. The existing MEPFP systems required upgrades in all areas where renovations are to occur.
The Science Hall project included a 19,000 sq. ft. addition that featured undergraduate science labs, prep space, faculty offices and a reading room. Our work also included infrastructure upgrades to nursing classrooms and support spaces, and other miscellaneous classrooms and administrative functions.
